Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai serves as the Vice Chancellor & Senior Professor at National Law University Delhi. He is equipped with more than thirty years of professional experience as an author, researcher, teacher and administrator.
Prof. Bajpai is the President of Indian Society of Victimology; Vice-President of Victim Support Asia; Chair Professor of Bodh Raj Sawnhy Chair on Professional Ethics and Chief Patron & Chairperson of Centre for Criminology and Victimology.
Prof. G S Bajpai has been nominated to several prestigious national and academic bodies. He serves as a Member of the Government of India’s Committee on the Right to Repair under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and has served as the Convenor of the Ministry of Home Affairs Committee for Reforms in Criminal Laws. He has also been invited by various Parliamentary Standing Committees to present his views on various bills tabled before Parliament.

Prof. Bajpai is Vice President of Victim Support Asia, President of the Indian Society of Victimology, and Member of the Indian Society of Criminology. He is a Member of BPR&D’s Standing Committee on Research Methodology and was the first Indian to serve as Secretary-General of the World Society of Victimology (2018–2023).
Victim Justice
Prof. Bajpai’s work on victim justice focuses on strengthening victims’ rights within the criminal justice system. His research advocates victim-centric legal reforms, compensation frameworks, and procedural safeguards to ensure dignity, participation, and access to justice for victims of crime.

Achievements
Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Bajpai has been serving as Professor since 2011 and as Registrar since 2014, at National Law University Delhi. Under his competent and efficient administration, he has achieved several milestones for NLUD:
- Significantly contributed to the attainment of ‘A’ grade, with a score of 3.59 on a 4-point scale, by NAAC in 2016 — indicative of excellent academic facilities for teaching and research.
- The University achieved the status of ‘Category 1 University’ under UGC’s Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018, giving NLU Delhi graded autonomy in specified areas.
- Secured 2nd Rank in Law Institutions in India Rankings 2018 of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by MHRD.
- Administered Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in nine law subjects — first ever by any Law School in India — catering to more than 10,000 students.
- Spearheaded e-PG Pathshala digital initiatives in Law and Criminology, expanding the reach of legal education across India.
- Established networks with universities in over 30 countries for international collaborations and student exchange programmes.
- Facilitated over 100 Conferences and Seminars, and implemented research projects worth over ₹15 Crores INR.

Career Highlights
Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai serves as the Vice Chancellor & Senior Professor at National Law University Delhi. He is equipped with more than thirty years of professional experience as an author, researcher, teacher and administrator.
Prof. Bajpai has authored 22 books/monographs, more than 60 research papers, 13 project reports, and over 100 op-eds in leading national dailies including Indian Express, The Hindu, and The Tribune. Under his guidance, 12 students have successfully completed their doctoral dissertations (Ph.D.).
He holds a post-doctorate in Criminal Justice from Leicester University, U.K. as a Commonwealth Fellow, a doctorate in Victimology, and a Master’s specialisation in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
