Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Bajpai has been serving as Professor since 2011 and as Registrar since 2014, at National Law University Delhi. Under his competent and efficient administration of the National Law University Delhi, he has achieved several milestones for NLUD. Few are as elucidated below:
- Significantly contributed to the attainment of ‘A’ grade, with a score of 3.59 on a 4 point scale, by ‘National Assessment and Accreditation Council’ (NAAC), in the year 2016. This high score is indicative of the excellent academic facilities available at the University, for teaching and research.
- Since his administering the University, it has achieved the status of ‘Category 1 University’, under ‘UGC’s Categorisation of Universities’ (only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy Regulations, 2018. Consequently, NLU Delhi has been given ‘Graded Autonomy’ in certain specified areas.
- The University secured ‘Second Rank in Law Institutions Category in India Rankings 2018’, of ‘National Institutional Ranking Framework’ released by MHRD, 2018.
- Spearheaded ‘Digital Initiatives’, in the form of ‘e-PG Pathshala Projects’. This was in the subjects Law and Criminology, to expand the reach of and access to Legal education, in India.
- Administered Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), in Nine Law subjects. This was for the first time done by any Law school in the country, to cater online education, to more than 10,000 students.
- Introduced several novel and innovative practices at NLU Delhi. These include: Digitalisation of Services and Dissemination of Legal Education.
- Facilitating University’s engagements externally and internally, in terms of organising over 100 Conferences and Seminars.
- Established networks with Universities and Institutes in over 30 countries, for International Collaborations, including student exchange programmes.
- Exponential growth embarked in creating this a Research based University; thereby increasingly opening many Research Centres and employing research staff.
- Implementing Research Projects worth over 15 Crores INR.
- Student-centred services were implemented, for their comfort and convenience. There were drastic changes made during his administration, which include installation of air-conditioning systems on a massive level, in both the University hostels.
- Infrastructural development changes were initiated and the University has been given a new face with State-of-the-Art-Facilities in classrooms, and in other facility areas for the faculty and students.
