Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai was invited as a Subject Expert to participate in the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) organized by the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal on July 1, 2026. The programme brought together academicians, researchers, and legal scholars to deliberate on emerging methodologies and innovations in legal research and pedagogy.
As part of the programme, Prof. Bajpai delivered two expert sessions on July 4, 2026. The first session, titled “Text Mining of Case Law: NLP-Based Approaches to Large-Scale Doctrinal Analysis,” explored the application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in analysing judicial decisions, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can facilitate large-scale doctrinal research, identify legal patterns, and enhance evidence-based legal scholarship.
The second session, “Hypothesis Testing in Legal Research: Leveraging AI for Empirical Validation and Theory Building,” focused on the integration of artificial intelligence into empirical legal research. Prof. Bajpai discussed innovative approaches to formulating and testing research hypotheses, highlighting the role of AI in data analysis, empirical validation, and the development of robust legal theories.
The sessions witnessed active participation from faculty members and researchers, fostering engaging discussions on the transformative role of artificial intelligence and data-driven methodologies in contemporary legal research. Participants appreciated the practical insights and interdisciplinary perspectives shared during the programme, which underscored the growing importance of computational tools in advancing legal education and scholarship.
